House Update - Getting Closer!

Here are a couple pictures from this week...the outside is pretty much finished, except for the landscaping. It looks so cute! :) Inside, the cabinets are installed and the light fixtures. Still no counter tops, flooring, faucets or appliances yet...but it's still supposed to be on schedule for completion in March! Not sure how, but things must come together faster than I think...

Reality is setting in quickly, although I prefer to stay in my canoe on the River Denial. :) I locked in my interest rate this week...4.5% (!!) - exactly where I wanted to be. My good faith estimate was at 6.5%, so this is great! This small-ish thing made everything so much more "real" to me. In my brain, it just seems like this is someone else's house...reality, ummmmm...it's my house. Well, not quite mine yet, but in the next 4-6 weeks it will be. *not freaking out, not one bit*

Here's a picture of the kitchen cabinets and the bar, sans counter tops. The door is my pantry and the green thing on the wall is my security system keypad. The little nook to the right of the bar is where the refrigerator will reside - not really sure it's the best location...but didn't have a choice. I'm sure I can deal with it! The wall color is pretty true to the picture...it's just a really pale beige/cream color and the doors and trim are all bright white glossy paint. I am glad I splurged on the cherry cabinets, they really look pretty! They are 42", but look really short in the picture. I will have ample cabinet space, since I have very little to put in the cabinets. Plus, there is a great cabinet over the refrigerator. It's not one of the really short cabinets...it's probably close to the same size as a "normal" wall cabinet. :) Between the cabinet space and closet space I have room for lots of stuff! Hooray!!!
