I got called up for jury duty again! I have no idea why my name keeps popping up to serve jury duty. This time, it is for a justice of the peace…not sure what that means. Other than I don’t have to go to the county courthouse; which translates to not downtown. :) The bad thing is I have no idea where this place is. I mean, I recognize the street name and have driven it many many times, but never realized that there is some sort of justice of the peace along this particular street. Weird! I guess I’ll find out next week…since they don’t see fit to give someone much notice.
Just for the record, this is my third time to get called up for jury service since December 2004! And it gets better than that…TexSis has been called up since then; as well as both of my parents. My parents have not been called up ever and then both of them got called up within about a year’s time. I guess it must be something about our last name (sooooooooo not a common one) that is flagged these last few years… Plus, I had never been called up before December 2004 either…not quite as impressive as my parents, but still! And now to be called up in this short of time seems fishy to me. Plus, this most recent summons went to my old address and not my new address (never set up mail to forward – just never got around to it yet!). Oh and it gets better, TexSis and I don’t even live in the same state as my parents! Coincidence or not?

That is completely insane. I've never been called up but I have always wanted to go!
I've gotten the summons a few times, but only had to actually go once, and even then I got dismissed after a half day. My mother served on a murder trial for a month once, though.
