So, it’s been nine years since I started my job at this company! I never thought I would be here this long…when I started my plans were for 2-3 years and move on. Maybe to another company here in town, maybe in Oklahoma, who knew?
Instead, I have stayed on and been able to go to school, study for the CPA exam and attain my CPA. I think it’s mostly due to the fabulous managers I have worked for (with the exception of a couple). Said managers were always really supportive of my studies and would work around the (sometimes) crazy schedule; plus, I was able to work 3 days a week a couple years ago so I could finish the last pesky requirements for the CPA. I really don’t think many employers would do that these days! And then, I was able to work my cushy 30 hours/week schedule until I was finished with the CPA.
Plus, my position with the company has grown as I have grown professionally. I know that’s not really an anomaly in the workplace, but it’s nice to not have the same duties now as I did waaaaaaaaaaaay back when! I’m grateful for being able to take on more responsibilities/duties that fit my strengths and not have to continually deal with strengthening weaknesses. (i.e. payroll, I am so not a payroll person!)
Well, here’s to another nine! :)

Congratulations you!!!!!
That's awesome. It's funny when you find a good place. This school here I've almost quit and moved back to New York, but it's just too good and I love it too much.
It's so important to be happy with what you do!
