Miss Me?

Hello Internets! Oh, how I have missed you...my computer contracted a nasty virus and was out of commission for a couple weeks. (my fault, since I didn't get it to our trusty IT department until today) I know at least one person missed my updates - hello Dad! :)

So, I have just over a week until moving day! I scheduled the movers to come move me on April 2nd and I am supposed to close on the! house! on March 31! Ummmmmmm, yes, in just over week I will be a homeowner!? I guess I know what I will be doing for the next 30 years... :)

Everything is coming along with the house, with only a minor problem with the wall tile in the master bathroom... The tile was the right color, but it was set square instead of on the diagonal like I requested. I probably could have lived with it set square, but they were fixing it today when KayTee stopped by the houses this afternoon. (side note: KayTee is closing on her house tomorrow!!!) I am supposed to have the final walk-through tomorrow to mark all the things that need to be fixed. Unfortunately, the master bathroom will not be finished...but I can look at the rest of the house tomorrow. *squee*

The sod was put in this afternoon as well, so I now have my (required) two trees and grass in the backyard. :) The trees are both some sort of oak, but they aren't the same type of oak. It looked like the other yards all had "matching" trees, so I'm not sure why I got so lucky and have two different trees. In reality, I am glad to have two different trees. Since I know at least one of the oaks is a messy tree! (it is the same as the ones we have at work in the parking lot) KayTees trees are the same as the one TexSis has in her front yard and that one is messy too! ICK! I guess it's a good thing that yard work is part of my HOA fees and I (hopefully) won't have to rake the millions of leaves that fall! :)

I have my package ready to mail to
Puglette for the Take Time to Relax Swap. As per my ususal smartness, I did not take pictures before packing the box... I was on a roll getting the package together and once everything was in the box realized I hadn't taken a single picture! I did include some things to relax...and a couple Mr. Pickles for the Chicken Game. (there's even a Flickr group...interestingly enough called, The Chicken Game) Anyway, Puglette, if you're reading...package will go into the mail sometime this week...so be on the lookout! :)

Bad news, I had to drop out of the apron swap...too much going on at work and deadline too close! We're down 2 in our department and I'm moving and it's quarter-end again and...and...and... I couldn't be sure to have time to complete my project. :( Oh well, it was better for me to bow out now than flake on the swap, because that would be much much worse.

Good news, amidst all my swapping frenzy...my SoonerSis and I decided to do a swap of our own! (to be sent in May - so I have plenty of time to get ready) We thought it would be fun to swap with someone we knew, and since we're both pinkies decided to do a pink/spring theme! (FYI - pinkies are people who like pink...E & Z say it like it leaves a bad taste in their mouths) I already found one thing for the package and have the fabric picked for the apron. All I really need to do for the apron is pick a pattern and get my creative juices flowing...after the move, of course! :)
p.s. I will take some more pictures of the house tomorrow...and maybe even post them too!

Hey I missed you too....where's my shout out? J/K!! Did you finally get your computer fixed?

Bummer about the apron swap. At least you knew you weren't going to be able to follow through though. I hope it didn't have anything to do with our swap. We can push it back if we need to.

I am counting the days until you move in. It is SOOO exciting!!

TTYL!!
