Well, nothing much to report on the house-front...I stopped by this afternoon, since TexSis hadn't seen the new lovely counter tops were installed. Still no floor tile installed, but the electricity is hooked up! And the TP holders, towel bars and doorknobs are installed. :) The landscaping is in the beginning stages...there are fence posts set and waiting for fencing panels. I'm just very glad I'm not the one that has to put in the yard and fencing! Although, I really hate wood privacy fencing. It ages terribly and looks ugly after only a year or so...I guess I'll have to learn how to properly maintain the wood fence to keep it looking good. Right - like that will happen! Anyway, it's moving month (move-in month?). Yep, totally trying not to freak out!!!
I joined not one, but two more swaps! The one I have to send first is the Take Time to Relax Swap hosted by Girlville. This one sounds like so much fun, since I send my partner some things I do to relax (it is not still open for participants, sorry!). I already have put together some items, and just need to pick up a few more things to complete the package! The other swap is the Easter Egg Surprise Swap hosted by Mississippi Songbird. This one is going to be a little different, since I have to put items into the plastic Easter eggs...so that limits the size of the items, but will increase the creativity involved! (it is still open for participants (US only), so you can still get in on the fun) I have a few ideas in mind, but need to make sure they will fit in the eggs...and I am thinking I should make this a 12-Days of Easter thing, since Easter is April 12 this year. I will have to be super-organized to make sure the package arrives at its destination by April 1 though...we'll see. :)
We went to lunch as a department this week...and my awesome department got me a housewarming present! How cool is that?! It was very sweet and completely unexpected...and I had to really not cry while I was sitting in the restaurant. They got me a VISA gift card and a really cool spice rack! I tried to find a picture of the spice rack in the Internet, but couldn't easily find one...take my word it's very cool... :) I definitely can use the $$ on the gift card to get all the stuff I need once I move in. I know there's always a bunch of stuff you need after moving into a new place, since I did it often enough with KayTee. No matter how many places you live, there are always those few things that you need to make the place "home". :)

I went furniture shopping this week and found a couch I like...at Rooms to Go. It's called Pear, but it is more like a sage green than "pear". I love that this couch has a chaise and I hope that it will fit into my new living room! I still need to measure it out on the floor at the house to make sure. I will not get the accent chairs, and the ottoman is a maybe. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the couch and chair will fit into the room though. It's hard for me to visualize the furniture into the space, so I definitely need to measure. :) Plus, any room that is empty seems spacious...until you try and put furniture into it!

That couch ROCKS!!! Hubby would HATE it so I guess I can't copy but I LOVE IT and thats all that matters right:)
Did they specify the size of the eggs for the Easter Swap? If not, you can get HUGE ones and then you would have a few more options. Can't wait to see what you come up with. Take pictures huh?
How do you find all these anyway? I only did one on Recipezaar and it was awesome fun. I even got the coolest pink flamingo salt and pepper shakers and Grinch socks too. Anyway let me know so maybe I could join. How funny would that be if we got each other? LOL!!!
Congrats on the house. I am SO excited for you.
P.S. THANKS for being my very first follower.
I love the couch! The ottoman might be a bit much, although I've never seen the space so who am I to say? It just looks very dark in such a light, airy room.
It's so exciting that you're moving this month!
I love the couch! I love your dark counters (I prefer dark wood).
I wish I lived closer so I could help you move!
I've lived in my house a year now, today is actually a year ago to the day that I moved in! No one got me a housewarming, but I think I might cry at the thought of it. Very Sweet!!
I just got a similar (also Crawford) couch in the darker green (sage? pine?) color. The stain guard works great, so far its protected the couch from blood, mayo, and milk. I swapped the ottoman for one of those lift-top ones in another section of the store. I'm a little envious of your pear color. It was my second choice, but I decided I should choose something a little less feminine. It did turn out to be bigger in my apt than I expected (they always so, I guess), but its worth it :)
PS. I wandered over here from Duck Duck Cow.
Our other couch, which we had to donate when we moved, had a chaise portion, and it was GREAT. That's a really pretty color, too.
