January Craft Challenge

Here is my creation for Christy's craft challenge! This was the first thing I thought of when I opened my supplies...I added another stipulation to the challenge, that I could only use the supplies I had already - no buying anything extra! It turned out okay, especially since I haven't made anything like this for a looooooooooong time. :)

I wanted to add some "interesting" tidbits, but didn't have enough room on the one page...so, I'll list them here:
  • Utah - 14-ish years - born and lived in this state until I was 14 (9th grade), don't remember much of note...lived in the Davis County bubble...
  • Arizona - 3-ish years - second state I lived, graduated from high school here and met Anne, moved during the summer after I graduated and went from 110+ temperatures and no humidity to 90+ and too much humidity (Illinois)
  • Illinois - 3 years - went to community college here and received associates degree #1 (science - general), the summers here were H-O-T/humid and the winters terribly cold! I still miss Chicago though, and if it weren't for the cold winters I could definitely live there again...
  • Florida - 2 years - graduated from college here with my bachelor of arts (mathematics), married/divorced here...not much else to say! Loved the weather here, but wouldn't move back here, too many snowbirds/tourists...but still miss Disney World.
  • Oklahoma - 7-ish years - went to community college (again!) and received associates degree #2 (business) - this is where I discovered my "talent" for accounting and decided that I would eventually be a CPA. Dad survived the OKC bombing and I will never forget that day, in fact when I went on the memorial museum tour it was a little too much for me!
  • Texas - 8 and counting - went to school so I could qualify to take the CPA exam in Texas, then received my license. Attended the temple for the first time in Dallas - still would have been Dallas if I still lived in OK, since their temple wasn't built yet. Attended not one, but two temple dedications since I've lived here! Decided to build a house here, so looks like I'm here to stay... :)

WOW! You certainly made it a real challenge by only using what I included.

Great work!

I enjoyed finding out all this stuff about you.

I love that we grew up in the same place, for some reason I feel bonded to you.

I have lived in Utah, Paris, Florida, New York, with small stints in Ireland and Brazil. Can't wait to see where I will go next. I am thinking the east coast, I love it back there!

You're already finished?! I haven't even started yet, although I came up with an idea this morning. Seeing your finished product is good incentive for me to get my craft on. Yours turned out great -- it's a great idea that didn't even occur to me. Now I'm eager to see the other 8, because I'm sure each one will be completely different but equally good.

I'm afraid I'm not up to your additional challenge of not buying anything new for the project -- I've got a list already. Can't really get started until I buy clear plastic and double-fold bias tape. Does that pique your interest?

Hi there, I love the fact that you are living in Texas. As I am from Texas & of course I thinks it's great! Would you please email me your address? That way I can get things ready for the Valentine Swap. Thanks! Renea
