Soooooooooooooooo...haven't really been too great at the blogging lately! Must try to get better and get it back together.
Can you believe it has been one year since I moved into the house? It hardly seems possible, but I hit the 1-year mark last week (closed on 3/31 and moved in on 4/2). Whew! Time really does fly when you're having fun... The sad part is I still have tons of organizing to do. When I moved in I just put stuff in the kitchen cabinets and it has stayed there. Some of the stuff makes sense where it is and some really does not! I just need to get it together and get at it. Same goes for the pantry. It is mostly organized, but it could use a little help too. Too many projects and so little time and energy...
Oh, so the RS birthday dinner probably isn't happening. We had planned it for April 15 (our normal RS night) and someone neglected to tell us that they are having road show dress rehearsals that night. Ummmmmmmmmm, would have been nice to know! Anyway, the good part is we hadn't really planned everything out and hadn't bought anything yet. But it gets better (!!) - on our normal RS night in May, I will be out of town for a conference. I know this doesn't cause for cancellation, but it does mean that I won't be there to help. At the rate it's going, we will just have to have a cake or something at our "Hi Ya'll/Bye Ya'll" and call it celebrated!
Work is work is work! Nothing particularly exciting going on there. The most exciting thing regarding work is my 10-year anniversary is fast approaching (May 8). I can't believe I have been here for 10 years! Who knew I would be at this job for this long? Certainly not me. I figured it would be a good place to start and move on in 2-3 years...fast forward and now it has been ten years. Here's hoping for another 10!
The kitties are hilarious as ever! One (or both) of them have started a new trick in the last few months. While I am gone, they get into the wall cabinets in the kitchen. Every now and again when I get home, the towels are spilling out of the cabinet. This is a tell-tale sign something has been up while I was away! (I keep the kitchen towels in the wall cabinet so Holly won't lay on them...she loves to nest in towels. Anyway, when they were kept in the base cabinet she was constantly getting into the cabinet to sleep. Hence, the reason I moved them!) My gut feeling is that the culprit is Minny on this one though. She longingly looks into the wall cabinets when I am putting away dishes and has gotten into them a few times too! Good thing both of them are cute and cuddly...

I am a little excited to go to the conference in May...in Washington, DC! It should be fun and I will get the hours I need to report for the year too. Hooray! I should have a little time for sightseeing, which should be fun. I haven't ever been to DC, so it should be interesting. Hopefully, it isn't too busy either since schools shouldn't be out at that time. But then again, it could be field trip season. Hmmmmmm... Regardless, I am looking forward to it. Even if it is just for a few days away from the office.

When I was in college I had a cat who liked to sleep in the kitchen wall cabinets, and somehow she managed to close the door after her, so I'd sometimes come home from class to make myself lunch and and be surprised to open a door and find her sleeping on top of the dinner plates. She was a crafty one. The towel cupboard in the bathroom was another favorite of hers, but she couldn't get it open unless we left it unlatched.
I'm happy you'll get to visit DC! I love that city. It's ALWAYS field trip season there, but you'll have a great time anyway. May is lovely there, and I'm happy to recommend some places to visit if you want to make sure you see the best of the best (in my opinion, at least) in just a few days.
Aww, Cute cats.
Has it REALLY been a year! I just cannot imagine that--that means I've been in Switzerland for almost HALF a year. Crazy life.
I have been glancing on and off at your blog...sure miss you! It would be nice to see you when you are in DC. We are coming to San Antonio, the last week of June. David has to take a week long test and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to be back in Texas, i miss it so. Call me 540-207-3575
